Young People’s Summer Pottery Group
We are delighted to announce that pottery programmes are back at the Old School, Crickhowell. Following a series of taster sessions led by artist Lucy Dickson, a summer programme is now launching for a group of eight young people, aged 16 - 25. Join us in our light filled studio at the Old School, which is equipped with a kitchen and outdoor space for refreshments and breaks.
Across a six week course, participants will learn pottery techniques and build knowledge around tools and materials in a fun and relaxed environment. There will be an opportunity for each participant to plan and create their own project using the skills they have developed, such as hand building, decorative methods and surface design. This is the perfect course for both beginners and those with some knowledge of pottery, to experience something new and creative over the summer.
The sessions will run 2-5pm on the following dates:
Wednesday 27th July
Monday 1st August
Wednesday 10th August
Wednesday 17th August
Wednesday 24th August
Wednesday 31st August
The course is free to attend, all materials are provided and works will be fired on site by the Peak team. As numbers are limited, we will prioritise those people who register with a commitment to join every session. This programme is supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.
