Justine Wheatley

Justine Wheatley (she/her) is Peak’s Executive Director. She is responsible for leading, developing and managing Peak, and she sets its strategic direction in collaboration with our Board. Justine is a Cultural Historian, with an MA Celto-Roman Studies and a BA History. An arts management professional and qualified chartered accountant formerly with Deloitte UK, she has worked with Peak since 2003 and previously had a career of nearly 20 years in both the commercial and voluntary sector.

Louise Hobson

Louise Hobson (she/her) is Peak’s Deputy Director (new in post March 2022). She is supporting the organisation in a period of research and development, leading on Peak’s collaborative programmes at both the Old School and Platfform 2. Louise is a curator and producer and she has previously worked with organisations including Art Night, Studio Response, the Arts Council of Wales and Wales in Venice, also developing exhibitions with Grand Union, Oriel Davies, Cardiff Contemporary and Mission Gallery. Within her independent practice, Louise is currently developing a new collaborative project in Barry.

Esyllt Angharad Lewis

Esyllt Lewis (she/her) is Peak’s Communications Associate. She is responsible for ensuring local, national and international audiences are able to connect with Peak’s work and values of collaboration, sharing power and working in sustainable + creative ways. Esyllt is an artist, editor and translator from Swansea, who studied Welsh and Philosophy at Cardiff University, and Drawing at Glasgow School of Art. She co-edits Cyhoeddiadau’r Stamp and mwnwgl. She is concerned with language and translation, landscape and material in the context of cultural and ecological crises.

Gwenllian Davenport

Gwenllian Davenport (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist from Merthyr Tudfil. Gwenllian is Peak’s Young People’s Associate, and works as Project Lead on Criw Celf, where she hopes to inspire young people to reconnect to physical making. Her own practice navigates her ever-shifting relationship with her mother tongue and its entanglement with her personal identity. Graduating from Bath School of Art & Design in 2019, Gwenllian received Spike Island’s Graduate Fellowship 2019-2020. She is 1/2 of MASH, a practice which explores the playful potential of making.

Dylan Huw

Dylan Huw (he/him) has been working with Peak since early 2020 and guides Pegwn, a Welsh language futures group hosted by Peak Cymru. Dylan is a writer and artistic collaborator who grew up near Aberystwyth and now lives in Cardiff. His writing spans criticism, fiction and art writing in English and Welsh, and he has produced work with organisations including Artes Mundi, MOSTYN, Amgueddfa Cymru and Chapter, in addition to freelance translation, editing and curatorial work and a role in artist development at National Theatre Wales. He was educated at King’s College London and Goldsmiths, University of London, obtaining an M.A. in Visual Cultures in 2018.

Rachel Dunlop 

Rachel Dunlop (she/her) is a producer and educator and has been working with Peak since 2017. Originally from N.Ireland, she trained as a painter at Aberystwyth and lived in Mid-Wales for ten years before moving to London in 2021. The focus of Rachel's professional practice is producing and managing cross-arts projects with young people and emerging practitioners. From 2017-21, she led Peak’s work with young people (particularly for those aged 16-25). 

Rachel is currently freelancing in arts fundraising and working with young people, is a mentor with Arts Emergency and a newly-appointed trustee of Newlyn Art Gallery + The Exchange, Cornwall.

Hannah Griffiths

Hannah Griffiths is Peak’s finance officer. Hannah grew up in Cardiff and qualified as an accountant with ACCA in 2011 whilst working at HartleyWilprint, one of Cardiff’s largest printing companies. Following the birth of her first child, she became self-employed and built up a number of bookkeeping and payroll clients from a broad range of sectors. Hannah moved to the Black Mountains in 2016 and joined Peak as finance officer in 2018. Hannah is a Xero silver partner, is training to become certified in Xero payroll and is fully trained in Receipt Bank and Futrli.

Carlota Nóbrega

Carlota Nóbrega (she/her) is a Portuguese artist and producer currently based in Cardiff. Having moved from Portugal to Wales, Carlota graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Cardiff School of Art and Design in 2017 and an Arts Management MA from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2019.

Alongside her artistic practice, where she explores alternative realities as a means of transgression and storytelling, Carlota assists with the delivery of Peak Cymru’s creative programme, works as a Producer with the artist collective Rat trap (which she co-founded in 2016); and works as a Fundraising Officer for the community dance organisation Rubicon Dance.
